Marbled Shrimp (Saron marmoratus) フシウデサンゴモエビ – Coral Shrimp
The Marbled Shrimp is very good a hiding. They live in the shallow reef areas in coral rubble and in coral heads and under ledges. I think that I had seen them or something similar in Hawaii but could not get pictures or them. This one was under a rock in shallow water. Amami 2026

Marbled Shrimp have many bristles all over their bodies. The males have very long claws. The claws of the females are short and covered with bristles. I think that this must be a young male because the claw legs should get a lot longer. Amami 2026

The patterns on the Marbled Shrimp can be variable and are very interesting. Amami 2026

The Marbled Shrimp without distractions. This has all been the same shrimp. There are many similar species of shrimp that have not yet been named and some that have been. Amami 2026
