Crab in Pocillopora
I found this crab in a pocillopora head in shallow water. I have not been able to identify it yet. Amami 2025

Crab in a tide pool.
I found this very small crab in a tide pool as I was putting on my fins. It was on a dark rock on a white sandy beach. Its carapace is rounded and there are bands on the legs. My best guess is that it is a (Gaetice depressus) ヒライソガニ. They have wide variation in coloration and a similar habitat. Amami 2026
