Pacific Gregory – フチドリスズメダイ

Pacific Gregory (Plectroglyphidodon fasciolatus) フチドリスズメダイ – size 16cm
A juvenile Pacific Gregory. The adults become evenly gray, but the scales are still noticeable. They were previously known as Stegastes fasciolatus. There are still many sites that call them that. Amami 2023

This Pacific Gregory will get a little bigger and darker as it gets bigger. It is in the surge zone at the edge of a reef that is exposed to waves. They have their own territories, so they are not so hard to get close too. Trying to get a picture of the side of them is a challenge. Amami 2026
