Ovate Chromis (Pycnochromis ovatiformis) マルスズメダイ – size 10cm
This is an Ovate Chromis. They have yellow on the nose and a white tail area. They were originally named Chromis ovatiformes by Fowler, 1946. This was from a fish from the Ryukyu Islands. They were renamed Pycnochromis ovatiformis in 2023. They seem to be found mainly in the Ryukyu area of the Western pacific. Sorry for the bad picture. I will try to go back and get a better one soon.
