Ovate Chromis (Pycnochromis ovatiformis) マルスズメダイ – size 10cm
This is an Ovate Chromis. They have yellow on the nose and a white tail area. They were originally named Chromis ovatiformes by Fowler, 1946. This was from a fish from the Ryukyu Islands. They were renamed Pycnochromis ovatiformis in 2023. They seem to be found mainly in the Ryukyu area of the Western Pacific. Amami 2026
