Whitesaddle Goatfish (Parupeneus ciliatus) ホウライヒメジ – Diamondscale Goatfish
The Whitesaddle Goatfish has a white patch behind the dorsal fin, two curved white stripes from the mouth around the eye and towards the white patch, and scales that make a diamond pattern. Looks much like the similar Kumu in Hawaii. The patch behind the white saddle may be black at times. Amami 2023

Whitesaddle Goatfish can change their coloration. This one is showing a lot of yellow. They can be paler too. Amami 2025
