Komadori コマドリ is the common name for the Japanese Robin (Larvivora akahige) which is a different bird. Akahige is the Japanese common name for the Ryukyu Robin. If that seems backwards to you, welcome to the world of scientific naming.

I am not sure about what this bird is. It could be a juvenile Ryukyu Robin. It also looks like some pictures of a Rufous-tailed Robin Larvivora sibilans. They are closely related. This was taken in May which would be about where a Rufus-tailed Robin would be on its way North. Amami 2026
