The Red-dotted Guard Crab has a lot of names. It is red with red dots on its purplish carapace. It lives in coral and helps guard the coral from predators like starfish. It can’t help with warm water killing the coral though. This coral is pretty light in color and is in danger. The summer of 2024 much of the coral bleached and died. It is the end of summer now and it is nice to see some areas with heathy looking coral. They live in branching stony corals. This coral is an Acropora Sp. Amami 2025
