The Kauai Amakihi is endemic to Kauai Island. There are also Oahu Amakihi and Hawaii Amlamkihi. A male Amahiki is bright yellow. They have along curved dark bill. Kauai 2009
This may be a female Kauai Amakihi. It is feeding on Kauai Kolii (Trematolobelia kauaiensis) which is an endemic plant of Kauai Island. There are other endemic Kolii species on other islands too. the curved bill of the Amakihi fits the Kolii well. Kauai 2008
