Kamikochi in Nagano is a popular resort in the Chubu Sangaku National Park. It is a gateway to the Northern Alps. Private cars are not allowed in Kamikochi so you have to take a bus. There are several hotels to stay in and many trails to hike on. The trails range from easy to very advanced. 2003
