The Hawaiian Spiny Lobster has a lot of purple and black legs. The legs are much smaller than those of the Green Spiny Lobster. They are hard to find. They are over fished with little regard to the rules for catching them. Niihau 2017

A female Hawaiian Spiny Lobster with eggs. It used to be illegal to catch females with eggs. This was changed to any female Spiny Lobsters. Catching them by hand and in season has always been a rule. If people would follow the rules there would be more lobsters. Kauai 2006
