The Commerson’s Frogfish is big and has many color patterns. This one was big and have a common color pattern for a Commerson’s Frogfish. Frogfish are anglerfish and fish with a pole and bait. The pole is the first dorsal spine that they push out over the mouth. The bait is a membrane that resembles a worm that they wiggle around and wave side to side. When a fish comes to close thy open their mouth suck and lunge at the same time. The fish in front of them usually just disappears. They can eat fish up to nearly their own size (prior to eating of course). Oahu, Hawaii 1985

Most likely a Commerson’s Frogfish possibly a different kind. If you are having trouble seeing it se the eye doctor. Actually, it blends in pretty good. It is in the center of the picture and takes up most of the frame. It is looking up a little and the mouth is open a little and on the left. The Frogfish often walk on the bottom more than swim.
