Clear Cleaner Shrimp (Urocaridella cyrtorhyncha) ソリハシコモンエビ (size 2cm)
This simple Clear Cleaner Shrimp has had a bit of a history. It was once called (Urocaridella Borradaile). It was split off in 2019 to (Urocaridella renatekhalafae Khalaf). Later it was changed to (Urocaridella cyrtorhyncha) in 2022 or 2024. At least that is the simplified version of it.
The Clear Cleaner Shrimp is in fact a cleaner shrimp. It is also known as a type of hover shrimp because it hovers. They will swim up to fish and clean them of tasty parasites. They even swam up to my camera and nipped at my fingers.
