Brown Booby (Sula leucogaster) カツオドリ
The Brown Booby is found mainly in the tropics. They are usually close to shore. They nest on the ground on islands. They have a dark head and back with a white belly.

Brown Boobies fighting over a fish. The top one caught it, and the bottom one ate it. They chase after flying fish and can catch them in the air. They dive for fish on the surface and can dive deep to catch other fish. Kauai 2009
Boobies will rest on floating objects in the water. I think this was a juvenile brown booby. It is hard to tell because a lot of the juvenile boobies are brown. This was after a long night at the tiller. It almost landed on my head around sunset time and spent the night with me. Hawaii 1990’s
