
Alae Keokeo (Fulica alai) ハワイオオバン – Hawaiian Coot
The Alae Keokeo is an endemic species in Hawaii. It is found on all of the main Hawaiian Islands. It is similar to the Alae Ula but has a white front instead of an orange and yellow one. It can be distinguished from the Common Gallinule by the white shield above the beak which is bulbous and white or red.
