Limacina Cowry (Staphylaea limacina) シボリダカラ – size 4cm – Slug-like Cowry
This is a live Limacina Cowry. I did not see the shell, but the mantle is I think enough. There is similar Staphylaea staphalaea with a black and white mantle. If you don’t see it, look to the left of the Bubble Algae. Amami 2026
This is the face of a charging Limacina Cowry. They do move quite fast for a snail. Amami 2026
The foot of the Limacina Cowry is pinkish. The underside of the shell is white with orange lines next to the teeth. The dorsal side of the shell is light tan with round white bumps and brownish ends. Amami 2026
