Yellowfin Scorpionfish (Scorpaenopsis neglecta) サツマカサゴ – size 19cm
I think that this is a Yellowfin Scorpionfish. The problem is that there is much individual variation and many similar species. These 5 pictures were of the same individual fish. Amami 2025
Looking under the pectoral fins would help in the identification. I try to avoid disturbing fish with venomous spines though. Amami 2025
Yellowfin scorpionfish The eyes and the antennae above them might help. The eyes do look like those of a Yellowfin Scorpionfish. There are others with eyes like this though. Amami 2025
