Fantail Filefish (Pervagor spilosoma) ‘O’ili ‘uwi ‘uwi – size 17cm
The Fantail Filefish is rare in Hawaii. They do however have booms sometimes. Around 1985 there wass a boom there wore huge schools of them everywhere on Oahu. They were washing up on the beaches too. I remember seeing a line of them on Kailua beach at the high water mark. It went all the way down the beach. Oahu ~1985
