The Yellowmargin Moray can get very big. They also have sharp teeth, a yellow margin on the dorsal fin, they are yellow with black splotches, black around the operculum, and orange eyes. Amami 2018
A good sized Yellowmargin Moray out of its hole in Hawaii. I still have scars on my finger from a Yellowmargin Moray that I didn’t see. Kauai 2013
Same place as the previous picture. Same eel? The guy with the Yellowmargin Moray on his spear was asking if I had a knife. I didn’t have one, but I went down and got the spear out. The eel was still lively and swam up to me after the spear came out. I nudged it back down with my camera. Now I carry a tiny camera.
He said that he was trying to spear a fish in a hole, and he got the eel instead. He seemed to not want to get near the eel. Kauai 2014
