The White Wagtail is usually found near water. They wag their tail a lot. There are many subspecies of Motacilla alba with this most likely being Motacilla alba leucopsis. Two of the subspecies of the White Wagtail overlap around Amami so there is likely some inter breeding making identification of the subspecies more difficult. Amami 2023

This White Wagtail has a black line through the eye. This should be a Motacilla alba lugens variety. Amami 2025
