Tahitian Squirrelfish (Sargocentron tiere) アオスジエビス – ‘Ala’ihi – size 33cm
The Tahitian Squirrelfish is not very common in Hawaii. It is present in Japan but I have not seen one yet. It has blue stripes on the lower half of the body, blue tips to the dorsal spines, blue leading edges to the pelvic and anal fins. Kauai 2020

The Tahitian Squirrelfish also has white areas around the eye and forehead. Sometimes the midsection will show a light bar. they are usually deep in caves in the day. Kauai 2013
