This is a juvenile Rockmover Wrasse in Amami. The juveniles look and act like a piece of drifting seaweed until you get too close. Then they dart into the sand. The adults move rocks around looking for food. They are hard to get very close to. Amami 2023

A juvenile Rockmover Wrasse in Hawaii. They can be green or brown in Hawaii. I could not find a Hawaiian name for them. Hīnālea is a name for wrasses but it refers to any wrasse. Kauai 2014
