A mature Reticulated Cowry next to an empty juvenile shell. The juveniles look much like a snail as they grow. Once they get to nearly full side the teeth begin to form on the bottom. Once the teeth are finished forming the shell just gets thicker. There is a variation in size of the adults but once they mature, they are finished growing. Kauai 2013

A juvenile Reticulated Cowry with the teeth forming. It was nearly an adult, but this is as far as it got. It is the same juvenile as the one at the very top. The shells of the live shells don’t have the whitish cast. Kauai 2013
