Pacific Glasseye (Heteropriacanthus cruentatus) ゴマヒレキントキ – ‘Aweoweo – size 50cm
The Pacific Glasseye has spots on the soft rays of the fins. It can be all red or blotchy. Sometimes has black edges to some of the fins. I’ve read that the Pacific ones were split off and called Heteropriacanthus carolinus. This name seems to be unaccepted at this time. Kauai 2015
Pacific Glasseye hiding under a ledge in the day. They come out to feed at night. Kauai 2015
