There is a lot of variation of color in the Japanese Parrotfish. Many describe the lower head as being brownish tan. The pictures I have are all blueish green on the lower head. On Japanese web sites I found blueish green seems to be more common around Japan. The most noticeable feature is a contrasting diagonal band of color from the head downward to the anal fin. They also have orange lines on the scales, pink and blue pectoral fins, other fins orange and blue, and blue lines above and below the eye. Amami 2026
