Turtle tracks on the beach. The Green Sea Turtle usually sleep underwater while holding their breath. They do come up to breath occasionally while sleeping. They can hold their breath for hours while sleeping. When feeding or swimming they have to breath more often. They come onto the beach to rest, avoid predators, and to lay eggs. I have seen then come out of the water, on the reef at low tide, to feed on algae in Hawaii. Amami
