Egg Cowry (Ovula ovum) ウミウサギガイ (size 10cm)
The Egg Cowry is a large over 10cm cowry with a black mantle with white spots. It feeds on leather soft coral. The white patch above it is where it had been feeding. The exterior of the shell is all white on the adults. The juvenile shells have light purple on the ends. The interior of the shells is brownish. Amami 2024
