Chocolate Grouper (Cephalopholis boenak) ヤミハタ size 26cm
The Chocolate Grouper is a small dark gouper. They are shy and hide in dark places. They are dark brown on darker brown with a little white edge on the back fins. Amami 2023
Juveniles have a yellow rear and a white stripe from the dorsal fin to the snout. This one still has the white stripe on its snout but has lost the yellow. The white stripe fades as it gets older. Amami 2024
