Bigeye Scad form dense schools in Hawaii. They look like an oil spill from the air. They are usually called Akule. People like catching or buying from the side of the road and eating them. Kauai 2015

This was a large school of Akule. The juveniles are Halalu. They were a bit spread out. Often, they will be so thick that you cannot see through them. These were being followed by a school of Kahala. Kauai 2015
