Timor Cardinalfish (Apogonichthyoides timorensis) カクレテンジクダイ – size 9cm – カクレイシモチ
I found this Timor Cardinalfish hiding in coral rubble. I had never seen one, so I didn’t know what it was at first. They were once known as Apogon timorensis. The genus was changed in 2010. I think that the Japanese common name was changed at that time too. Amami 2026
The Timor Cardinalfish swam away slowly so I was able to get a better picture for identification. I had never noticed them before, so I think that they are good at hiding. Amami 2026
