Neophyte Sandgoby (Fusigobius neophytus) サンカクハゼ – size 7cm
The Neophye Sandgoby’s dorsal fin has a small black spot on the front with a white tip and edge. There is a black spot on the peduncle. Smaller ones are semi-transparent. They have brown and reddish spots. The eyes are close together and the body has a triangular cross section. The Japanese name translates to the Triangular Goby. Amami 2026
