Ryukyu Green Pigeon (Treron permagnus permagnus) リュウキュウアオバト
The Ryukyu Green Pigeon was once considered to be a subspecies of the Taiwan Green Pigeon (Treron formosae). It is now considered as a separate species with two subspecies Treron permagnus permagnus from Okinawa to Yakushima and Treron permagnus medioximus from Ishigakijima to Yonagunijima.
A pair of Ryukyu Green Pigeons They both have green heads. The male Taiwan Green Pigeon has a yellow to orange on the head. They sound similar to the Taiwan Green Pigeons.
